Jan Vertonghen has played down talk that he is angling to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

It has been claimed that the defender is resolved to quit White Hart Lane next month after growing frustrated at the defensive rotation policy employed by boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Belgium international has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United, but he has done his best to declare his happiness at Spurs.

"I'm still very happy here", he explained to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad.
