Inter president Erick Thohir has been forced to issue a response to speculation that the Nerazzurri want to sign Robin van Persie from Manchester United.
It has been claimed that Inter are hoping to snap up Van Persie, who has been struggling for form this term at Old Trafford.
But Thohir, who recently appointed Roberto Mancini as the new Inter boss, has rubbished such talk.
Asked about Van Persie, he was quoted as saying by Sport Mediaset: "It's just media speculation."

Inter are known to be in the market for a new striker in January as Mancini wants to increase his firepower.
The Italian giants have been linked with a number of possible signings, including Paris Saint-Germain's Ezequiel Lavezzi.
