Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi is confident that the young Whites squad will improve over the course of the season.

Leeds are currently 15th in the Championship table on 23 points after 19 fixtures and have won two of their last three league games.

After a difficult start to the season and three managerial changes, Neil Redfearn’s side have been showing some form over the last few weeks.

And midfielder Bianchi believes that the signs are encouraging that the young squad will improve over the course of the season, especially after their victory over league leaders Derby County last weekend.

“We are a young team with young players, we have the time to improve but for me we are in a good way”, the Italian told the club’s official site.

“And now, after the last match, we have more confidence and we will improve.”

Bianchi, who joined Leeds from Sassuolo this summer, admits that the Championship is a step up for him both in terms of quality and competitiveness.

“The football is very different here. For me the level is very high. It is more physical and the players are very good in all the teams.

“There is not one team better than the others, they are all the same level.”

Leeds will take an away trip to second placed Ipswich tomorrow.
