Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has revealed he has English heritage.

Falcao turns out for Colombia at international level, having been born in Santa Marta, however he has English ancestry.

The striker, speaking to Manchester United's in-house magazine Inside United, revealed: "My maternal great-grandfather was born in Yorkshire, but was contracted to work for a company who had a base in Colombia.

"So I have English blood running through my veins!"

Falcao joined the Red Devils in the summer from Monaco on a season-long loan, with an option to buy.

He has seen his career at Old Trafford interrupted by injuries however and is currently pushing to cement a spot in the side.
