Stephen Warnock injured his hamstring in Leeds United's 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham today, something which is a cause for concern for boss Neil Redfearn.

The former Liverpool full-back had to be replaced by Gaetano Berardi with just one minute of normal time remaining.

And questions were soon asked about Warnock's fitness, given the defender has been a key man under Redfearn at Elland Road.

"It's his hamstring and we'll have to assess it on Monday. But it could be a little bit of tiredness as well because he hasn't missed much football and the pitch was a little bit heavy today", the Leeds manager told a press conference.

Should Leeds lose Warnock's services for some time, Redfearn is in no doubt that the left-back's absence would be felt keenly, not least by the club's young stars.

"He's been playing well and he's quite an influential character in the dressing room.

"We've got quite a young side and he's the guy that these players look to."
