Former Bournemouth and Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Case believes a giantkilling could be on the cards this week when the two clubs meet in the League Cup.

The Reds are struggling, having recently been dumped out of the Champions League and then losing 3-0 at Manchester United at the weekend.

Bournemouth meanwhile are flying in the Championship and currently top the table, meaning when they host Liverpool on Wednesday they will be full of confidence.

For Case, a Cherries win is entirely realistic.

"If I was a Bournemouth fan I would be rubbing my hands", he told the BBC.

"Liverpool are there for the taking.

"I watch Liverpool every game. The lack of confidence within the side, the work ethic, there is a lot of work to do to get them back on track", Case added.
