Inter are hoping the will of Lucas Leiva to move to the San Siro can convince Liverpool to part with him.

Roberto Mancini has admitted that he would like to welcome Lucas into his Inter squad, but stressed he understands snapping up the Brazilian from Liverpool will be a tough task.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio has started work on delivering Mancini's new year present however and Inter are hopeful a deal can be done.

But first, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Inter are focusing on selling the move to Lucas.
