Fears are growing for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, who left the Liberty Stadium with his lower right leg and foot in a protective cast.
Van Persie was injured in Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City late on, but was forced to keep playing as boss Louis van Gaal had already used all three of his substitutes.
Antonio Valencia (45th minute), Ashley Young (58th minute) and Juan Mata (79th minute) were all thrown on before Van Persie's knock.
After the match Van Gaal confirmed that Van Persie picked up an injury which, he says, virtually meant Manchester United finished the game with ten men.
"We dominated the game even with 10 men because Robin van Persie could not run anymore after the injury", he said via his club's site.
