Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is expecting Argentine defender Martin Demichelis to sign a new contract with the club.
The veteran defender, who arrived at the club in 2013, played an important role in Manchester City winning the league title in his first season at the Etihad Stadium.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but the Manchester City manager wants to keep the experienced Argentine at the Citizens.
The Chilean has worked with Demichelis at two previous clubs and is keen for him to stay at Manchester City; therefore a new contract for the player is on the horizon.
Demichelis has made 63 appearances for Manchester City and has often led the backline in the absence of club captain Vincent Kompany, who has been dealing with injury issues.
