Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn feels that he now has a squad which is imbalanced on his hands, something he is sure was on display tonight with the substitutes he selected against Brighton.

Goals in either half proved too much for Leeds to overcome against the Seagulls and they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium in this evening's Championship clash.

Redfearn lost Steve Morison through injury in the 50th minute, the striker being replaced by another striker in Edgar Cani. Casper Sloth was also brought off, in the 59th minute, the midfielder being replaced by forward Mirco Antenucci.

Redfearn threw on another striker in the shape of Souleymane Doukara with 15 minutes left. His bench contained four forward players and two defenders, with no midfielders selected.

And the Leeds boss feels he now has a squad on his hands which is imbalanced, meaning loan additions will be needed.

"We've got an imbalance, with a lot of strikers and not much cover in midfield, which was apparent with the bench", he told LUTV.

However, Redfearn does not want to make excuses for his side's loss against Brighton.

"But I don't want to make excuses.

"I can't be too downhearted. We came into this game as the form team in the division. We've been on a fantastic run.

"Tonight has been disappointing and we've got to put it to bed and go again on Saturday."
