Celtic winger Gary Mackay-Steven insists that the Hoops are going to get a result against Inter Milan and they are not in Italy to be mere “tourists.”

The two sides drew 3-3 in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie at Celtic Park last week; a result that gives Inter a strong foothold in the tie courtesy of their three away goals. The onus will now be on the visitors to get a result in order to progress to the round of 16.

Mackay-Steven joined Celtic in the winter transfer window from Scottish Premiership outfit Dundee United and went on to score on his club debut against Patrick Thistle in a 3-0 win in the league on 11th February.

Speaking to the club site, the 24-year-old expressed his excitement about playing in such a high-profile match at the iconic San Siro.

“It was a nice feeling to come here. It’s an iconic stadium, and Inter Milan are a massive club, but so are Celtic.”

The winger insists that the Hoops head into the match with a mission to get a result and are not in Italy to be mere tourists.

“We’re not here to be tourists. We’re here to do a job and that is to get a result.”

In the first leg, Ronny Deila’s side came back from being 2-0 down and then 3-2 down to force a 3-3 draw. And Mackay-Steven feels that there is still a lot left in the Hoops’ tank.

“The first leg was good in a lot of ways but I feel there’s a lot to come from us as a team as well so it’s exciting.

“If we can cut out errors and not give them too much space we can create chances ourselves so there’s no reason why we can’t go into the game thinking we can win it.”
