Harry Kane has already turned his thoughts to Manchester United next weekend after his Tottenham Hotspur side beat QPR 2-1 today to move up to sixth place in the Premier League standings.

QPR were at the races from the start and did not roll over easily for Spurs, though the visitors did take the lead in the 34th minute after Kane headed home an inswinging cross from Andros Townsend.

QPR continued to apply themselves, but Spurs went two up in the 68th minute. It was Kane again who did the damage after he sprung the offside trap and then rounded QPR goalkeeper Rob Green to slot the ball home.

Hope though came for the home side in the 75th minute when Sandro struck a neat shot from just inside the penalty area, beating Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

QPR pushed hard to find the equaliser, but Spurs managed to hold on and claimed a vital three points.

Kane understands the importance of the win, Spurs' second in succession, but has already moved on to thinking about Manchester United.

He told the BBC: "It looks tight [in the race for the top four]. There's a lot of top teams up there.

"Whoever can put a run together, it looks like they'll do quite well.

"That's what we're aiming to do.

"Big game next week at Old Trafford and hopefully we can take these two wins and really give it a go and see how far we can push up the league."
