Leeds United legend Eddie Gray is delighted with the progress that youngster Charlie Taylor is making at Elland Road.

Another of the club's academy products, Taylor was drafted in for regular first team football earlier this year following the sale of Stephen Warnock to Derby County.

Taylor initially took up the left-back role, but has been pushed further up the pitch in recent weeks by head coach Neil Redfearn, who is keen to make use of his pace and eye to get forward.

The 21-year-old scored his first senior goal for Leeds on Monday, taking advantage of a defensive error to net in the Whites' 4-3 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And Gray feels Taylor is continuing to grow as a player.

"I definitely think that Charlie Taylor has come on a lot. He's looking confident on the ball, he's willing to run at people", Gray told LUTV.

"I'm delighted he scored his first goal for the football club. He took it well", he added.

Taylor was sent out on a number of loan spells to bolster his first team experience before becoming a regular at Elland Road.

The defender spent time with Bradford City, York City, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Fleetwood Town.
