Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Liverpool target Javier Pastore has revealed that his contract talks with the Parisians have reached a standstill and he is unsure when they are going to return to the negotiating table again in the future.
Until recently, Pastore was confident of signing a new deal with the club and has talked about his commitment towards PSG.
Many believed that it was just a matter of time before Pastore would put pen to paper on a new contract to replace the deal that expires in the summer of 2016.
However, Pastore revealed that talks with the club have reached a standstill and said that he is unsure whether they are going to sit at the negotiating table again in the future.
“There are no talks [over a new deal], for now”, Pastore told MundoD.

“I have not spoken with the club about the renewal and they are also quiet about it.
“I still have a year left on my deal, but I do not know whether we are going to return to the negotiating table.”
The recent development will provide encouragement to Liverpool, who have been tracking the midfielder since last summer and have been linked with wanting to take him to Anfield.
Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in Pastore and it remains to be seen whether PSG eventually offer him a new deal or pave the way for him to leave the club this summer.
