Daniel Sturridge admits that he is desperate for Raheem Sterling to remain at Liverpool and feels that money is not entering into the winger's thoughts.
Sterling's long-term future with Liverpool is up in the air after he rejected a new contract worth £100,000 per week and vowed to put talks on hold until at least the summer.
The England international is clear that winning trophies is his main motivation, hinting that he needs to be convinced of Liverpool's ability to pick up silverware on a regular basis.
Sturridge, who is a close friend of Sterling both on and off the pitch, is keen for the youngster to stay put at Anfield and dismissed suggestions the winger just wants a large pay day.
"As long as he is playing regularly he will be happy", the striker was quoted as saying by the Press Association.
