Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has lavished praise on his players despite the Reds dropping two points in a 0-0 draw away at West Brom this afternoon.
Both sides struggled to get going, with chances at a premium at the Hawthornes, despite Liverpool dominating possession and enjoying the more shots at goal. At the break though it was 0-0.
Liverpool continued to enjoy more possession in the second half, but had no cutting edge and could not manage more than five shots on target from their 22 goals attempts, with the game drifting towards a 0-0 draw.
It ended 0-0, a big blow for Liverpool's top four hopes, but Rodgers is not prepared to criticise his players and saluted their fighting spirit.
He was quoted as saying by the BBC: "We created opportunities, our only downfall was taking those chances but that has been a problem over the course of the season.

"I thought the players were outstanding, their courage and play on the ball. Across the team there were some outstanding performances."
Rodgers is not giving up on reaching the top four however and has told his team to focus on winning their remaining matches, starting with a midweek fixture against Hull City.
"We have a game in hand and we have to chase that and fight for that but if the players play like they did today nine times out of 10 they would win. We will take this confidence into the midweek game.
"We have to rely on other teams, but we can only do our job and that is still the plan."
