Torino are working on the signing of full-back Davide Zappacosta from Atalanta in anticipation of losing right-back Matteo Darmian.

The Turin-based outfit are conceding defeat in their bid to keep Italy international Darmian at the club, meaning they are now looking for a replacement.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Zappacosta is the man Torino are moving for, with an eye on getting a deal done quickly for the Italy Under-21 international.

Torino are aware that Zappacosta has other admirers, one of which are Premier League giants Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers' men have noted Zappacosta's talent and have been linked with eyeing a potential bid for him this summer.

Torino may have a problem agreeing a fee with Atalanta, who are asking for €7m for Zappacosta.

The Turin-based club view that as too steep a price, but are working on bringing it down.

Atalanta snapped Zappacosta up from Avellino last year and he has quickly flourished at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
