Manchester United linked Thomas Muller wants to stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from a ‘big’ club.

It has been reported that Manchester United are preparing an audacious bid for the Bayern Munich forward and have sought a meeting with the club hierarchy to discuss a deal.

It has been claimed that the English giants have put together a €160m package in wages and as a transfer fee, to lure Muller to Old Trafford this summer.

Muller’s record for club and country is an attractive proposition for Louis van Gaal, who is looking to add proven talent to his Manchester United squad to take them to the next level.

Despite the size of the offer, Bayern Munich are unlikely to entertain it as they are in no mood to sell a player who has been one of the success stories for their youth academy.

The player himself is also not keen to change clubs and has stressed that though he is flattered by the interest, his immediate future lies in Bavaria.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Muller said: “When a request comes, automatically you deal with it.

“A request from a big club is an honor and a reward that [says the player] is performing well.

“But I feel happy at Bayern, and my contract runs until 2019. There is nothing more to say on this speculation.”

Muller has scored 120 goals and provided 105 assists for his team-mates in 304 apperances for the Bavarians.

A World Cup winner with Germany, he has earned 62 caps for the world champions and has hit the back of the net 26 times for his country.
