Former West Ham and Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison may be looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Morrison was involved in Lazio's friendly against Vicenza yesterday, but had to be helped from the pitch by the club's physios after picking up an injury in the 20th minute of the match.

According to Italian daily Il Messaggero, there is considerable fear at Lazio that Morrison has picked up a problem with his ligaments.

If such an injury was to be confirmed, the midfielder could be looking at a lengthy spell out of action.

The midfielder has only been able to officially play for Lazio from this summer after he departed West Ham in February.

Instantly being out of action would be a big blow for the English midfielder, along with Lazio coach Stefano Pioli.

Lazio rate Morrison highly and have been hopeful of him making an impact in Italian football next season.

There have been suggestions the midfielder has found settling in Italy to be difficult, but Lazio have been working overtime to make sure he stays put.
