Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in talks with Toronto FC about taking over at the MLS club, his agent has confirmed.

The Norwegian has been out of work since parting ways with Cardiff City last year, following a disappointing spell in Wales during which he presided over the club's relegation from the Premier League and floundering in the Championship.

Solskjaer has now reached an agreement on a severance package with the Bluebirds and is set to return to management.

Asked about whether Solskjaer was in talks with MLS side Toronto FC, agent Jim Solbakken was quoted by Norwegian daily Dagbladet as replying: "Yes".

Should Solskjaer take over at the Canadian club, he will inherit a squad which boasts former Juventus forward Sebastian Giovinco, ex-Roma midfielder Michael Bradley, former Marseille midfielder Benoit Cheyrou and ex-Aston Villa striker Luke Moore.
