Brazilian side Vasco da Gama have reached an agreement to sign free agent Urby Emanuelson and hope to be able to put him at their coach's disposal next week.

Emanuelson, a product of Ajax's youth academy, spent time with Roma and Atalanta in Italy last term, having moved on from AC Milan.

However, this summer the winger is a free agent and as such can move outside the transfer window system. He was linked with Leeds United earlier this summer, but to date the Whites have made no moves to take Emanuelson to Elland Road.

Now, according to FOX Sports Brasil, Emanuelson is about to sign for Vasco da Gama.

The club were recently humiliated 6-0 by rivals Internacional and have moved quickly to try to soothe their fans' anger by bringing in Emanuelson.
