Steve Evans has promised to bring winning football to Leeds United, but insists he will need time to do it on a regular basis.

Leeds earned their first win under Evans last night when they beat Cardiff City 1-0 at Elland Road, ending a dismal record at home.

Evans is looking to add to his squad and is currently in the midst of swooping to sign Liam Bridcutt from Sunderland on loan.

He is confident that over time he can make the winning feeling a regular occurrence at Leeds, but noted the Championship is a difficult league to master.

"I will get winning football to Leeds United", he told a post-match press conference last night.

"And to get winning football to Leeds United on a regular basis you need time and you need support in a tough, tough division. The Championship is very tough."

Evans has now switched his attention to following up on Leeds' win when the Whites take on local rivals Huddersfield Town on Saturday in their next Championship fixture, away from home.

Huddersfield have just sacked their manager Chris Powell, following a 2-2 draw away at Reading last night.
