Leeds United head coach Steve Evans expects to have an answer on whether he can sign Liam Bridcutt on loan from Sunderland by Sunday.
Evans was hoping to bring in Bridcutt in time to face Cardiff City on Tuesday night, but no deal could be pushed over the line for the midfielder to feature in a game the Whites won 1-0 at Elland Road.
An agreement has still not been sealed for the former Brighton midfielder, who has yet to feature for Sunderland this season, but Evans is hopeful he will soon know one way or another.
Evans told a press conference that talks over signing Bridcutt are continuing and he expects an answer by Sunday.
Bridcutt is thought to now have other options in the Championship as he looks to move on from Sunderland to earn regular first team football.
