Liverpool have not lined up the signing of former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato in the winter transfer window, despite reports in Italy that a deal has been agreed.
Pato is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians, however Corinthians have made clear their desire to cash in on the striker, whose wages weigh heavily.
It has been claimed Liverpool are splashing the cash to sign Pato, having put a deal in place. But according to Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad, citing Reuters, the Reds have no intention of signing Pato.
The Anfield club have distanced themselves from suggestions Pato is Merseyside bound, while Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade admits the search for buyers in Europe is ongoing.
"His agent is looking for potential buyers in Europe", De Andrade told SporTV.
