Juventus are closely monitoring the progress of 19-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.

The Germany Under-20 international started his career at Fortuna Dusseldorf and joined Gladbach’s youth academy in 2010.

Since arriving at Borussia-Park, the midfielder has made steady progress through the ranks and is now a regular feature in Andre Schuberts’ side. He has been turning in fine performances for the club and has attracted the attention of European bigwigs.

According to Tuttosport, Italian champions Juventus are closely monitoring the progress of the midfielder and have so far liked what they have seen from Dahoud.

It has been suggested that Juventus have compared him with Claudio Marchisio and feel he could be the long term successor to the Italian international midfielder in Turin.

Currently priced at around €4m, the Bianconeri are concerned that his price will go through the roof by the end of the season, if he continues to maintain a consistent level of performance.

Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the Italian champions look to secure a deal for him in January or take the risk of waiting until the summer, when more clubs could join the chase for Dahoud.

At 19, he has already made 21 senior appearances for Gladbach and has a contract until 2018 with the club.
