Leeds United’s director of sports medicine Harvey Sharman is set to part ways with the club after securing a job with American baseball team the Washington Nationals, according to American daily the Washington Times.
Sharman, who is the Peacocks’ head physiotherapist, will leave for his new endeavor next month after spending 15 years at the Yorkshire club. He has been named the Washington Nationals' new executive director of medical services.
He arrived at Elland Road as an assistant physiotherapist in 2001, but replaced Dave Hancock as the head of the department after he decided to leave the club to join Chelsea’s medical staff in 2007.
Leeds will now have to search for a replacement for Sharman, who is heading across to the United States.
Sharman has decided to take up the position of executive director of medical services for the Washington Nationals as the baseball outfit are keen to revamp their medical staff.
