Leeds United striker Chris Wood has expressed his disappointment following his team’s shock home defeat against relegation threatened Rotherham United on Saturday.
Joe Newell’s solitary goal in the 54th minute proved enough for the Millers to lift them from the bottom of the league table in the Championship.
The defeat brought an end to Leeds’ run of two successive victories, but Wood believes that it was a one-off performance and not something that indicates that the club are regressing.
The striker has urged his team-mates to improve their overall game and reiterated that the team need to convert their chances.
The Whites had a number of chances during the game, but failed to find a way past Rotherham’s shot-stopper Lee Camp.

“We would have liked to have carried on the run but I won’t say we’ve turned back the wrong way. It was just one of those performances", Wood was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
“We created enough chances to win the game, but the bottom line is in both boxes we need to do better. That’s from me up top to anyone in the team – when we get a chance we have to score.
"It’s fine margins in both boxes. That’s where games are won and lost."
Leeds next travel to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers, who sit just one place above them in 15th.
Wood is expecting his team to put in the right effort in training, which will help them in overcoming QPR.
“It wasn’t to be on Saturday but we’ll put it right on the training pitch this week and at QPR.”
