Rangers Under-20s manager Ian Durrant has praised 16-year-old Liam Burt, after the midfielder scored twice in the 4-1 demolition of Dundee United in the Development League on Tuesday.
Following the win over Dundee United, Durrant’s side moved up to third position in the league table, level on points with St. Johnstone.
The Gers’ Under-20s side are four points adrift of league leaders Hamilton Academical.
Burt was called up for the Scotland Under-19s side earlier this month, but did not clock up a large amount of minutes on the pitch with the national team.
First team manager Mark Warburton has also summoned the exciting youngster to train with the senior squad, along with a couple of others.

Durrant, a former Rangers midfielder himself, believes that the first team exposure provided to some of the youth players has aided in their development.
The 49-year-old expects the midfielder to be prepared for the cup clash against St. Mirren scheduled for next week.
Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Durrant said: “Liam is excellent, he has missed a lot of football over the last month by being away with the Scotland under 19s and he didn’t play a lot.
“But he’s had two tough games back to back and he’s been around the first team which will stand him in good stead and that has been great for the academy having a few of them around there.
“We have another week or so until the cup tie [against St Mirren] so Liam will be wanting to get out there again and be as good as he can.”
