Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his team only trained together for 45 minutes prior to playing out a 2-2 draw away against Exeter City on Friday night in the FA Cup.

It took only nine minutes for Exeter to stun Liverpool and when Jamie Reid put in a good cross, Tom Nichols was on hand to prod the ball past Adam Bogdan.

Liverpool were level just minutes later however after an Exeter defensive mistake allowed Jerome Sinclair a chance to score, which he took.

But Exeter were ahead again before half time when in the 45th minute a corner swung in by Lee Holmes found its way straight into the back of the net.

Liverpool would not be beaten though and drew level in the 72nd minute when a cross was cleared into the path of Brad Jones, who hooked it into the back of the net.

It ended 2-2 and a replay at Anfield will be needed to separate the two sides and decide who goes into the fourth round.

For Klopp, his side did well in difficult circumstances considering they have barely played with each other or worked with each other as a team on the training pitch.

"It was difficult in our situation because we have the opposite of a fine tuned team – we trained together for exactly 45 minutes and had to try to create a common idea", he said on LFC TV.

"We had to make decisions for this game. It was not the best moment for us. We took it, we did it, the young lads helped us and we have another game."

And Klopp admits he could field the same team in the replay.

"In two weeks we have another game and if the situation is similar we have to do the same again.

"And if we try it again with this team then we have one game experience together. So we will see."
