Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris feels the mentality of the team and their approach to every game will now play a key factor in the Premier League title race at this stage of the season.
With 14 wins in 26 league games, Spurs are second in the table, just two points behind leaders Leicester City. Having won five consecutive games, with their latest win coming against giants Manchester City on Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino’s side look in the mix to lift their first ever Premier League title.
And the French international could not be more delighted with the prospect of winning the coveted silverware. He insists that from this point forward his side will have to approach each day with a renewed focus and the mentality of the team at this stage will be integral in ensuring that they do not lose sight of the title now.
“From the beginning of the season we said if we keep the same mentality, spirit and focus every day, in every training session and in every game then we could be rewarded at the end of the season”, the French goalkeeper was quoted as saying by the Lilywhites’ official website.
“We need to be clever, to push and to up our levels all together. Now it’s about mentality”, the 29-year-old added.
