Joe Hart feels it is a good time to be a Manchester City player, ahead of his side’s crucial Champions League Round of 16 first leg clash with Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday.

The Citizens, whose hopes of winning the quadruple were shattered after losing 5-1 to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday, are still in the running for three trophies.




Manchester City currently find themselves fourth in the Premier League with 47 points from 26 games, six behind leaders Leicester City, with Manuel Pellegirini’s side set to face Liverpool in the League Cup final on Sunday.

And Hart, whose team will travel to the Ukraine for their Champions League commitment on Wednesday, insisted that Manchester City are “lucky” to be involved in so many tournaments.
 


However, the custodian took special mention of the Champions League, a competition the Etihad Stadium outfit will be fighting to win for the first time.

“It’s an amazing competition [the Champions League]”, Hart told the club’s official site.

“It’s something we really look forward to as a team. But we’re very lucky that we’re involved in a lot of competitions.

“The majority of the time when it comes to the Champions League we’re still fighting on all fronts, and this is a good time to be a Manchester City player and a good time to be fighting.”

Current Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, who guided Barcelona to two Champions League trophies, is set to replace Pellegrini at Manchester City after the end of the season.
