Philippe Coutinho has insisted that winning a trophy with Liverpool “would mean a lot” to him.

The Reds’ last piece of silverware came in 2012 in the form of the League Cup, while Coutinho joined the club from Inter Milan in January 2013.

Liverpool will have another chance to win the domestic cup competition when they meet Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday.

But before the showdown at Wembley, Jurgen Klopp’s team are set to face Augsburg in a Europa League Round of 32 return leg at Anfield tomorrow; the first leg ended in a goalless draw in Germany last week.

And Coutinho, who explained that his side will give their all to win the League Cup at the weekend, however, urged Liverpool to first focus on their Europa League fixture with Augsburg.
