Former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise admits that Alberto Moreno was poor for the Reds in yesterday's League Cup final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.
The Spaniard was caught out of position on several occasions, although Liverpool did manage to hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw following 120 minutes of football, only losing on penalties; Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana missed their spot-kicks.
Riise is hopeful that the criticism heading Moreno's way will make him a better player, while adding his voice to those panning the Spaniard's display.
"Moreno getting loads of stick from yesterday's final. Will make him stronger I hope", the former Liverpool star wrote on Twitter.
And Riise added: "Was caught out of position yesterday. I like him yes but have no problem saying he played poor yesterday."

Moreno has regularly come in for criticism due to his performances this season and at the start of the campaign former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers preferred inexperienced defender Joe Gomez as his left-back option.
Gomez however is currently out injured, offering Moreno little competition for the left-back slot, as experienced Jose Enrique is out of favour.
