Rangers manager Mark Warburton is delighted with Harry Forrester's performance in his side's 2-0 home win over Raith Rovers this evening, but insists he never doubted the winger.

Forrester arrived in the winter transfer window on a contract until the end of the season, but took his time to force his way into the team.

He scored his second goal for the club at Ibrox tonight to set Rangers on their way to victory, striking in the 27th minute.

Lee Wallace then killed off Raith's hopes of a comeback by scoring in the 51st minute and it finished 2-0 to Rangers, a result which puts the Gers 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship.

Warburton was delighted with what Forrester produced and said on Rangers TV: "Harry has nothing to prove to myself and [assistant manager] David [Weir], I’ve known him since he was a young boy but what is pleasing for me is that the crowd can now see how good he can be.

"He needs to have that confidence and he was trying too hard in the first couple of games but you saw tonight his technical ability, his work rate and his desire.

"He is a playground player, when he gets the ball he wants to dominate it and he was very very good tonight", Warburton added.

Forrester will hope to have done enough to keep his spot in the starting eleven for this Saturday's Scottish Cup clash, which sees Rangers play host to Premiership outfit Dundee.
