Despite Rangers’ healthy lead at the top of the Scottish Championship table, Mark Warburton has tried to curb the enthusiasm around his team and insists that they are yet to win anything this season.

Their narrow 1-0 win over St. Mirren, coupled with Hibernian’s loss to Dumbarton, allowed the Gers to open up an eleven-point lead at the top of the league table, with just ten games left to play in this season’s Scottish Championship.

Many feel that it is a foregone conclusion that Warburton’s men will become the champions and earn automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership, but the Rangers boss is not yet making plans for top flight football next season.

He admits that his side are in a good position to achieve their targets this term, but warned the Rangers fans and players that the club are yet to win anything, so any kind of celebrations at this point would be premature.

The Rangers manager said in a press conference: “I’d be foolish to sit here and say we aren’t in a good position.

“We are eleven points clear with ten games left, so of course we appreciate that we are in a good position, but the truth is we have not won anything yet.

“Everyone’s talking about it, but we have not won anything yet. Hopefully we can achieve our targets, but right now the only job is to beat Raith tomorrow night.”

Rangers have also made it to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, where they will take on Dundee this Saturday.
