Former Rangers striker Michael Mols feels the Gers have a good chance of winning their Scottish Cup quarter-final clash against Scottish Premiership opponents Dundee on Saturday.
Mark Warburton’s team, who defeated fellow Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock in the previous round of the competition last month, are en route to returning to top flight as they presently find themselves 14 points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship table.
Although Dundee are favourites to win the quarter-final, Mols thinks Rangers have an equal chance of progressing to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
The Dutchman cited the example of how favourites Celtic were knocked out of the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup, the final of which will be played between Hibernian and Ross County.
Mols believes Rangers can also go on to win the Scottish Cup, but the 45-year-old insisted that the Ibrox outfit need to take each game as it comes.

“Why not?” he was quoted as saying by the Scotland Herald, when asked if Rangers could win the Scottish Cup this season.
“But you need to take it game by game.
“You can talk about winning it but if you lose on Saturday there’s no point. It’s a 50-50 chance I see it on Saturday and it is football, there are always surprises in cup games, so why not Rangers?
“That’s what I’m trying to say. In the past, it was always Rangers or Celtic in the cup finals and now with the situation you would always say it should be Celtic always in the finals.
“But it’s still football and now there are two other teams in the final [of the Scottish League Cup].”
