Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is happy with a point from the north London derby, which ended 2-2, despite taking the lead at one point against the ten men of Arsenal.

The Gunners took the lead in the 39th minute with a smart finish from Aaron Ramsey, but Tottenham got a big break in the second half when Francis Coquelin received his marching orders in the 55th minute and the home side took control of the game with two goals in two minutes from Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane.

However, Spurs failed to find that crucial third goal, that could have killed off the game, and Arsene Wenger’s men finally rescued a point out of the north London derby with a 79th minute strike from Alexis Sanchez.

Pochettino believes the performance was good, and feels they didn’t deserve to go into the break a goal down, as Tottenham were by far the better team in the first half.

He admits that not getting a win against the ten men of Arsenal was disappointing, but is happy to take a point out of the game, especially after Ramsey squandered a golden opportunity to steal three points for the Gunners in the dying minutes of the game.

The Tottenham boss said on BT Sport: “I think we can speak a lot about the game; pleased as the performance was fantastic.

“In the first half we conceded the goal, when we fully deserved to score ourselves and we managed the game from the beginning.

“It’s true that after leading 2-1, we are little disappointed of the final result, but you know the chance that Ramsey had at the end, we need to be happy with a point against Arsenal.

“And if we analyse the game, we played much better than them.”

Tottenham maintained the three-point gap with Arsenal in the league table, but Leicester could go five points clear at the top if they win at Watford later today.
