Leeds United forward Mirco Antenucci has revealed although he managed to bag a brace against Bolton Wanderers, he found the Trotters a difficult team to face.

The Italian’s two goals on either side of half-time helped the Whites to edge out Bolton 2-1 in a Championship fixture on Saturday.

Antenucci broke the deadlock in the 39th minute at Elland Road before doubling his side’s advantage just after the hour mark.

However, the visitors, who are currently rock-bottom in the standings, pulled one back in the 74th minute and put Leeds under tremendous pressure.

But the Yorkshire giants managed to see off Bolton’s pressure and register their first win in six games in all competitions.

And Antenucci, who admitted that he wanted to score a hat-trick against Bolton, insisted that the Macron Stadium outfit pushed his side on to the back foot in the closing stages of the game.

“I wished [to complete my hat-trick] but Bolton in the last twenty minutes were dangerous”, the striker explained on LUTV.

“Their ranking is not good.

"[But] for me they were a difficult team to face.”

Leeds will next face Cardiff City in an away league fixture tomorrow.
