Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is open to the possibility of taking a job in Italy.

The Scot was shown the door by Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad earlier this season and remains keen on experiences abroad.

And Moyes, who has of late been linked with succeeding under pressure Steve McClaren at Newcastle United, will not rule out working in Italy.

Asked by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato if he could coach in Italy, Moyes replied: "Why not?"

The former Red Devils boss also revealed that he has rejected a number of proposals in England and is in no rush to jump back into a job after leaving his role in Spain: "In Spain it was nice.

"I've turned down many opportunities in England. I said no to a few clubs, but for now it's okay."

Moyes has been sacked from his last two jobs, first by Manchester United in 2013 and then by Real Sociedad in 2015.

The Scot is sure to take extra care when it comes to selecting his next managerial post and it remains to be seen whether he will return to the game in the UK or abroad.
