Rangers head of recruitment Frank McParland believes there are a number of talented players in Scotland, which means the Gers' focus must remain on signing players in their own backyard first and foremost.
The Ibrox outfit are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window as they prepare for a return to the top flight and McParland, who joined Rangers from Burnley, is working hard on identifying targets.
McParland, a former Liverpool chief scout, is focusing on the Scottish market, but not just for players to go into the first team fold. Indeed, McParland feels that Rangers must win the race for the most talented young players too, to put them at academy chief Craig Mulholland's disposal.
"Seeing the SPL, and I've watched a lot of games, I think there are some good players in there", McParland said on Rangers TV.
"I think, certainly from Craig Mulholland's point of view with the academy, we need to be getting the best young players in Scotland to Rangers", he continued.
