Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has explained that he is expecting fierce support from the fans during his side’s vital Europa League Round of 16 first leg clash against Manchester United on Thursday.
The Reds, who edged out German team Augsburg 1-0 in the previous round of the continental competition in late February, have managed to win their last two Premier League games against Manchester City and Crystal Palace respectively.
Lovren was thrilled to see the support on display both at home against the Citizens and away at Selhurst Park.
And the Croatian international, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014, thinks Anfield will be jam-packed for Merseyside giants’ first ever European meeting with their arch-rivals Manchester United.
“We had amazing support in the last two games, against Man City and Crystal Palace”, Lovren told the club’s official site.

“They've been amazing but we don't need to say what [it] will be against Man United.
“We know it's a big derby and we know the fight through the history against the two teams so the fans, I think, will enjoy it.”
Liverpool, who are currently seventh in the Premier League with 44 points from 28 games, have lost both their league games against Manchester United this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s team were thrashed 3-1 at Old Trafford in November before losing the corresponding fixture 1-0 at Anfield in January.
