Leeds United head coach Steve Evans is proud of the performance his team displayed last night in a 2-0 win despite Cardiff City changing their game after going down to ten men.
Evans’ side recorded their second league victory in a row when they scored a hard-fought win over Cardiff away from home, and it took them up to 15th in the league table on 44 points.
The Whites took the lead in the first half when Souleymane Doukara scored from a deflected shot, and things only got worse for the home side after Fabio was sent off in the 64th minute.
Despite coming under some pressure from the ten men of Cardiff, Leeds kept the home side at bay with some good defending and a fine goalkeeping performance from Marco Silvestri.
And they finally bagged the three points when Mirco Antenucci scored in stoppage time to send the away support into a frenzy.

Evans admits that the performance from his men filled him with pride, and feels they should have taken a decisive lead by the hour mark because of the amount of chances they created.
The Scot told BBC Radio Leeds after the match: “I am so proud of the players.
“We come here, in eleven against eleven we counter-attacked and got our noses in front.
"If I am being honest we were probably disappointed that after 60 minutes we were not three in front, with the chances we didn’t take.”
He admits that the game became tougher after Cardiff went down to ten men as the home side changed their tactics, and his defenders had to be at their best to deal with the high balls the home side continued to launch into Leeds’ penalty box.
“It became more difficult after they go down to ten men as their game plan, which is to play in a certain way, changed and it became, ‘let see how far we can launch into the Leeds United box’; we had to deal with a different kind of game.
“Credit to the central defenders and goalkeeper, who stayed big and strong, and we always thought that we mostly likely to score on the break.”
