Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Mario Gotze has remained coy over speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old Germany international has struggled to get into the Bayern Munich team since returning from a hamstring injury in February, and has only made 12 apperances this season in all competitions.

Considered one of the most gifted young playmakers in European football, Gotze is finding it hard to feature in Pep Guardiola’s plans and there are rumours that the German champions are not prepared to offer him a new deal to replace the existing one which expires at the end of next season.

Speculation is rampant that Jurgen Klopp is keen to reunite with his former Dortmund player at Liverpool this summer, but the German international has remained coy over the rumours about moving to Anfield.

When asked about the possibility of reuniting with Klopp at Liverpool, Gotze told Sky Deutschland: “You should ask Jurgen.”

Despite Klopp’s influence, Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Gotze and if Bayern Munich signal that they are willing to sell the World Cup winner there may be interest from other clubs.
