Manchester United custodian David de Gea believes that although tonight’s Europa League fixture against Liverpool is a difficult encounter, he feels that his side can still pull off a win at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal’s team are scheduled to take on the Reds in the second leg of their round of 16 tie in the European competition today, but after having lost the first leg at Anfield 2-0 last week, their chances of making it to the next round are hanging by a thread.

But despite the tough spot that his team are in, the Spanish shot-stopper has refused to rule his men out just yet, and feels that the Red Devils need to show some aggression on the field, insisting that they have the belief to go through and they should give their all for the fans.

“With United, anything is possible", the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was quoted as saying by Manchester United’s official website.

"That’s one of the great qualities of this club, we always believe and always fight until the end. We believe in ourselves and we believe we can be in the next round.

"We didn’t play to our best last week, that’s clear and they had a lot of chances and possession", the Spaniard admitted.

"But now we have a chance to put things right at home. We need to improve in all things – both defensively and attacking. We need to fight hard, be aggressive and show our passion. We need to show why we are Manchester United", De Gea stressed.

“We know we have the quality and we have the belief, and we want to make it a special night for our fans who support us no matter what."

Manchester United are still involved in three competitions, namely the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Europa League. However, the Europa League is viewed as perhaps their best hope of making the Champions League for next term, increasing the importance of this evening.
