Celtic manager Ronny Deila believes that representing both Scotland and Celtic at the age of just 18 is a fantastic achievement for Kieran Tierney, but the youngster needs even more improvement.

The youngster received his first international call-up for Scotland's match against Denmark this Tuesday, going on to play for 45 minutes for them.

Deila, who has seen the teenager progress through Celtic's youth ranks before handing him his senior debut in 2014, is happy for the player and insists that Tierney is ready for the senior level.

Praising the left-back's attitude to work, the Norwegian added that Tierney has the potential to become a successful player, as he has eyes set on improving more and more.

"He showed what we’ve seen at Celtic. He’s ready for this level", Deila said at the pre-match press conference.

Speaking about the scope for improvement in the youngster's game, the manager stated that playing for both the national side as well as Celtic means that the player will not have any lack of scope, and will be in just the perfect situation to excel.

"He has a lot to improve, but when you play national team and Celtic it’s a perfect situation."
