Former Rangers stars have delighted after a 1-0 win over Dumbarton at Ibrox this evening booked the Gers a spot back in the Scottish Premiership by virtue of being crowned Scottish Championship champions.

The first half at Ibrox took some time to get going despite the sell-out crowd and the expectation that Rangers would quickly crush Dumbarton.

Rangers had an effort from Jason Holt from outside the box blocked, while Harry Forrester then saw his effort saved in the 20th minute.

James Tavernier went close from close range, but his attempt was palmed away as the two sides went in locked at 0-0 at half time.

Rangers continued to dominate from the outset in the second period and did take the lead in the 50th minute through Tavernier, who hit a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner.
