Leeds United full-back Charlie Taylor feels he has taken a few more steps forward in his career this season and has ‘massively’ improved his performances.

Taylor has been one of the standout performers in Steve Evans’ side this season and recently picked up the club’s Player of the Year award for his consistent displays in a difficult campaign for the Whites.

A product of the Leeds academy, the full-back is held at high regard at the club and despite his contract situation, the Whites are confident that he has the talent to become a big part of their future.

Reflecting on the 2015/16 season, Taylor feels he has taken giants strides when it comes to his development this year and believes his performances have been on a upward trajectory since he broke into the first team picture a year or so ago.

When asked whether he feels he has improved as a player this season, the full-back told BBC Radio Leeds: “I think I have improved massively really.

“During the time at Fleetwood [on loan] I improved in that season and in the last 18 months, since I have broke into the first team back in January last year, I have improved massively again.

“So hopefully I can keep improving and keep getting better.”

Despite suffering from a bout of glandular fever in the middle of the season, Taylor has clocked up 42 appearances for the club and has been an integral part of the Leeds first eleven.
