Pedro Pereira is the new director of football at English Championship side Nottingham Forest, according to Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol.

Forest are shaking things up this summer as they look to assemble a side to challenge for promotion to the Premier League next season.

Pereira worked for Portuguese club Sporting Braga between 2002 and 2014 before heading to Italian outfit Fiorentina.

The deal-maker's contract at Fiorentina was terminated on Tuesday, meaning the sporting director has been plotting his next move.

And it is claimed the Portuguese has opted to take the post at the City Ground, where he will be tasked with building a side to push for promotion.
