Italian super agent Mino Raiola admits that he was contacted by several clubs for Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, but the Swede only wanted a move to Manchester United.

The 34-year-old striker joined Manchester United on a free transfer earlier this month, signing an initial one-year deal with an option to extend for a further year in the future.

Ibrahimovic was linked with a move to Old Trafford as soon as he announced his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, and there was speculation that he had a deal in place with the Red Devils long before the transfer was announced.

However, Raiola claimed that several clubs wanted to sign his client this summer, but admits ultimately the veteran forward wanted to join Manchester United, which did the trick.

The 48-year-old agent told Sky Italia: “I received phone calls [for Ibrahimovic] from many clubs, but it’s not fair to say which ones.

“The desire was to go to Manchester, but it was an old desire.”

On whether Ibrahimovic wanted to join AC Milan, the Italian said: "If he returned to Italy, Milan was always in his heart.”

Ibrahimovic is currently enjoying his summer break, but is expected to join pre-season training with the club in time to feature in a friendly against Galatasaray in Sweden at the end of the month.
