Championship outfit Leeds United have loaned out youngster Alex Purver to non-league side Guiseley until 2nd January.

The 19-year-old signed a new one-year contract with the Whites at the end of June, having been an integral part of their Under-21 squad last season.

The midfielder in fact featured in a total of 33 matches for the Under-21 team last season and also captained the team on a number of occasions.

Purver had also been training with the first team after returning to Thorp Arch for pre-season in June.

Things though have changed since and the Peacocks have now allowed the player to leave on loan in order to enhance his progress.

“I’m really pleased, I’m really proud and I’m looking forward to the season ahead”, Purver was quoted as saying by Guiseley's official Twitter feed.

"I'm delighted to be joining Guiseley, I've enjoyed being in Leeds United youth squads, but I can't wait to play for Guiseley."

And the Leeds youngster would be interested in a season-long spell.

"I'd be open to staying the whole season at Guiseley if it is going well for me."

Purver had joined the Elland Road-based outfit as a child aged six and has since progressed through their youth ranks.
